The Long Table has partnered up with several cafes countywide and deliver healthy frozen meals to your door.
Their achievements have been outstanding, a post on their Facebook page on 5th May read:
We’re excited… As of today we have delivered over 20,000 meals across Gloucestershire as part of our Feeding The 5000 project working with Diocese of Gloucester
It really is the take out that counts, every paid meal helps us to provide meals to the homeless, NHS key workers, Foodbank clients and those isolating.
We still have plenty of food so order today if you would like to try our meals.
A massive thanks to all our other kitchens across the county. The Sober Parrot The Clean Plate The Wiggly Worm Roots Coffee Community The Royal Agricultural University Thomas Franks Ltd Severn View Food Project Ols Halas Ian Ballantyne Girish & Son Vegan Indian Food
Having ordered meals from them myself (7 for 25.00) I can personally recommend them and it feels good knowing some of that money goes back into feeding those most in need during this crisis.
Closer to my neck of the Woods, Ian Meredith, Board Director of Roots CIC Coffee shop, Kingsholm, said to me this week:
“We only have volunteers at the moment doing food projects. We have a hamper project every week and ready meals delivery. Currently over 3000!”
Ordinary people are making extraordinary changes.
