Warmest wishes

Window outside shares a snowy scene,
Background to a winter’s dream,
Snuggle into blanket soft,
Beside a fireplace of gentle roars and pops,
Scents of cinnamon and clementine,
Singing carols and festive rhymes,
Illuminated trees of pine,
Hold candy canes of red white lines,
All is dressed with rose gold hues,
A backdrop to forget your blues,
Everything sparkles even when not in view,
A smile on me and a smile on you,
Robin visit – a loved ones near,
Out of oven meal shared with those most dear,
Gift guesses are becoming clear,
Present opening time is here,
Special greetings sent with love,
Family members giving hugs,
Cold hands wrapped around warm mugs,
Dog curled up beneath my feet on rug,
Nutcrackers are standing proud,
Atmosphere beautifully loud,
Sleigh bells ring a sparkling sound,
Decorations all over town,
With a book so worn, adored, well read,
Next to a radiator or tucked up in bed,
Replaying moments in my head,
A smile rises like fresh baked bread,
This warmth in my heart will last all the way through,
To the very first summer barbecue,
And then it shall start anew,
