{"id":364,"date":"2019-07-19T18:10:33","date_gmt":"2019-07-19T18:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/writeupyourstreet.org\/?p=364"},"modified":"2019-07-19T18:10:38","modified_gmt":"2019-07-19T18:10:38","slug":"ceri-writes-an-inclusion-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writeupyourstreet.org\/index.php\/2019\/07\/19\/ceri-writes-an-inclusion-statement\/","title":{"rendered":"Ceri writes an inclusion statement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/writeupyourstreet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/inclusion-1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-365\" width=\"225\" height=\"100\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> I was really keen to take up the challenge of writing an&nbsp;inclusion&nbsp;statement&nbsp;for Write Up your Street but at the&nbsp; same time felt daunted, wondering how I cover everything.<br>I found a resource published by a fantastic local charity&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.activeimpact.org.uk\/see\/uploads\/Top-Tips-Series-Writing-an-inclusion-statement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Active Impact Gloucestershire<\/a>&nbsp;really helpful.&nbsp; Advising to focus on the intended audience&nbsp;&nbsp;and to address them in a supportive way.<br>We are quite a diverse group so I considered what areas we already remove barriers in, such as communication preference, accessibility and our varying paces.<br>I then asked the rest of the team for feedback and have now published it on our website where it can be altered at any time.&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/writeupyourstreet.org\/index.php\/inclusion-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/writeupyourstreet.org\/index.php\/inclusion-statement\/<\/a><br>It did take some thoughtful reflection to produce but was not as difficult as I anticipated.
