When my volunteering role at Gloucester Cathedral disappeared, I was asked to join the Gardening for Wellbeing group. Having never gardened at all in 36 years of marriage, I hesitated but thought I would give it a go. Initially, I talked to other members and my conversations grew more than my plants!
Eventually I picked up some tips and, after a few successes (and a few failures), I found I was winning more than I lost. For the first time, I have taken an interest in my own garden, weeding, growing from seed and researching suitable plants. The bonus is that I really enjoy it. Who would have thought it? All because I decided to give it a go!
