I\u2019m registered as blind, but that doesn\u2019t make me who I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m very interested in languages and I\u2019ve studied them since I was twelve. I speak French and Spanish fluently, and Klingon (when I\u2019m drunk). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love word games and playing with words, things like anagrams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I live in Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds in Roman Times. I love it, it\u2019s very centrally located because of the Roman roads, and I\u2019m very happy here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had a guide dog called Yorkie and he retired two years ago. He was just the best thing that ever happened to me. He got me out when I probably wouldn\u2019t have been bothered and he made me more sociable by introducing me to loads of people by stopping and sniffing them. He became a bit of a legend in Cirencester – everyone seemed to know him. He was just a wonderful dog, so clever. I\u2019m so amazed by how well trained they are and all they can do. I\u2019m a volunteer for Cirencester Guide Dogs and am starting to become a volunteer fundraiser for them, so I can do more to help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I did a skydive and raised money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, because that was the disease my dad had. He died last year and he was the bravest man I know – it\u2019s such a hard disease. I jumped out of the plane at 15,000 feet and had no fear at all. The guy on the plane said, \u201cI can\u2019t believe you\u2019re so calm and collected\u201d and I said, \u201cIt\u2019s because I can\u2019t see how far up I am!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve recently got into cooking and I\u2019m challenging myself to make more things. I\u2019m making my own curries, desserts, cakes and things. I just made a lime and mascarpone cheesecake my mum used to make for us and it was lovely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m part of Write Up Your Street because I’m interested in things that are happening locally and I want people to hear good news stories in the region, because we hear far too many bad things that are going on and nobody seems to focus on the good things. I love being part of a community as well. It really helps to lift me up and give me things to do, so I want to promote my community as much as possible. I love this group of people as they are all as crazy as I am!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
